Regarded as ‘the most iconic female pop-singer’ to come from Iran, Googosh (فائقه آتشین) has also enjoyed a career as a movie actress. Iran’s ban on female singers prevented her from performing but failed to prevent her being adopted by a younger audience that discovered her music through bootleg recording – smaking a rare concert performance a big event.
A crowd of 6,500-strong audience at Hamburg’s O₂ World recently witnessed to one of her concerts, however, with Soundart taking care of the PA system.
Established as the technical firm of choice for Persian concert organisers for several years now, Soundart seized the opportunity to introduce the as-yet unknown in Germany DAS Audio Aero 50 line array system.
Lars Schnier – the DAS Audio System Engineer for Germany – opted for an LR hang of ten Aero 50 units per side as the main PA system, with eight Aero 12A systems as PA out fill. This was accompanied by 15 LX-218A powered subwoofers in cardioid mode, with the aim of limiting the low end to the stage. The self-powered Aero 50 system was further supplemented by 16 Lab.gruppen FP 10000Q amplifiers and four Lake LM 26 processors, for the Aero 12A systems, which were managed by two DAS DSP-4080 system controllers.
‘Thanks to the very useful planning tool offered by DAS Audio, we were able to determine all of the parameters in advance of the concert,’ Schnier says. ‘This saved us a great deal of time, particularly in terms of construction, in combination with the excellent handling of the system. Speaker performance is very strong. Both systems have excellent output reserves and reproduce music extremely accurately, something that was particularly noticeable during the complex arrangements performed by the artist.’
Soundart has also been recruited to provide support to DAS Audio in Germany. In cooperation with Schnier, who is in direct contact with the Spanish manufacturer, the Aero 2 Series, has been introduced to Germany.
