The recent Moogfest festival of technology, art and music provided five days’ performances from some of the world’s most influential electronic artists in Asheville, North Carolina.
The main stage hosted acts including Kraftwerk, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, and MIA, making a powerful and flexible front of house console essential. An Avid Profile was chosen for the main stage, with an Avid S3L providing main stage recording. Every festival stage used Pro Tools production software to record the live music performances.
‘Avid live sound systems deliver performance and reliability and are the standard for headline acts,’ says KamranV, Moogfest documentation producer and CEO of engineer, filmmaker, hacker and design company CyKiK. ‘As the console demanded by the majority of artists, Profile was the choice for the main stage, while the S3L’s compact, modular design made it ideal for our documentation needs.’
‘With Venue software running on both the Profile and S3L systems, we get unrivalled integration with plug-ins and the industry-standard Pro Tools, giving us the best user experience and the most streamlined workflows,’ says Nick Tipp, Moogfest recording producer.
‘With their superior performance and reliability, Avid live sound systems are the number one choice for the world’s top music artists,’ adds Jeff Rosica, Avid’s Senior VP of Worldwide Field Operations.
