Scrub has relocated from Berwick Street in Soho to larger premises at 69 Wells Street in the heart of Fitzrovia, central London. The two-floor facility is located on the north side of Oxford Street, on the corner of Wells Street and Margaret Street.

ScrubA division of HHB Communications, Scrub is the UK’s leading supplier of pro audio technology to postproduction houses. The opening of central London’s largest pro audio demo facility comes on a record year for HHB, and accommodates the company’s recently-expanded technical support team and a demo training facility.

69 Wells Street houses a Pro Tools S6 presented in AKA Design bespoke studio furniture, a Pro Tools S3 control surface paired with a Pro Tools Dock surface, Pro Tools HDX and an immersive audio system achieved through a Genelec Experience Centre. Visitors can experience a full range of immersive audio formats, covering creative sound design from the stereo and binaural sound of virtual reality to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, with specialists available to discuss these new platforms. The 33 speakers set up will be used for immersive audio, studio and installation demonstrations.

The Genelec Experience Centre’s 11.1 immersive audio configuration combines seven 8351A SAM studio monitors in left, centre, right, left side, right side, left back and right back positions, one 7370A SAM studio subwoofer and four 8330A SAM studio monitors overhead. A 5.1 configuration of five 8320A SAM studio monitors and one 7350A SAM studio subwoofer provides outstanding monitoring accuracy and flexibility in a smaller footprint, and two 8010A studio monitors and two 8430A IP SAM studio monitors demonstrate compact loudspeaker applications.

The installation speakers include five AIC25 active in-ceiling speakers, one 5041A active in-wall subwoofer and two AIW26B active in-wall speakers. Four 4030B installation speakers are positioned in the office to demonstrate small to mid-sized commercial installations.

Further pro audio technology on display includes a BSS Audio Blu-806 signal processor with digital audio bus and Dante, and products from DAD, Focusrite, Mogami and Studio Network Solutions. The Blu-806 enables Scrub to switch between different sources, speaker sets and destinations, working in conjunction with Genelec GLM software. A DAD AX32 converter system is also able to switch between different speaker sets, and Focusrite RedNet products are performing network audio routing.

‘Thanks to its qualified team of product specialists and support staff, Scrub looks forward to continuing to hold a number of competitive advantages whilst supplying and supporting the latest professional audio technology,’ says Steve Angel, HHB Group Sales Director.

‘The Genelec Experience Centre’s allure is enhanced by Scrub’s additional pro audio technology, including Avid’s pro mixing hardware devices,’ says Head of Scrub Sales, Ben Scully. ‘A number of this year’s largest projects have been based in Fitzrovia, and while we are only a three-minute walk from our previous location, we have positioned ourselves in the new centre of our customer base.”
