Having won the contract for broadcasting Czech premier football league matches, mobile network company O2 Czech Republic commissioned Broadcast Solutions to build a dedicated OB van. In cooperation with Slovak partner Elektronika, the German system integrator designed a custom variant of its Streamline S16 OB, which was built in short time and delivered to the customer within three month of commissioning. Part of the delivery was a supporting van to accommodate tripods, cameras, cable drums and other equipment.
Broadcast Solutions combined its field-proven Streamline concept with customer specific needs for the the van’s design. As a first collaboration between O2 Czech Republic and Broadcast Solutions, the Streamline S16 represents a further stage for the field-tested, concept of pre-engineered OB vans. All Streamline OBs can be delivered within a short period of time and with significant cost-savings, but without compromise on technology, quality and durability.
With a Studer Vista V broadcast console at its heart, and Lawo VSM Broadcast Control and Tally system as the control layer the van also uses a Riedel MediorNet A/V Realtime Network, Riedel Artist 128 intercom matrix and Riedel Riface wireless talkback. Its audio matrix is built around two fully redundant Studer Infinity Core 400s and Studer stageboxes, with a Jünger Dolby D/E Encoder/Decoder and Genelec monitor loudspeakers.
‘This project follows past cooperation with Broadcast Solutions for a 16-camera HD OB van for Czech Television,’ says Elektronika Project Manager, Jan Chodora. ‘The Streamline S16 ranks among our previous successful projects for O2 Czech Republic, and will undoubtedly help – together with the MPEG vans supplied by our company – to implement the visions of the new Elastic Media Production division.’
