TSL Products has supplied new Dubai-based Malayalam language radio channel Club FM with audio monitoring and power management to enable the production of Dubai’s first adaptive Radio Data System (RDS) station. Owned by the Mathrubhmi media group, the station relies on new units installed by system integrator RGB Broadcasting for daily operations.

Club FM

Club FM started as a single radio station in Kerala in 2007, broadcasting in the Malayalam language. The new channel, launched in 2016, is Club FM’s fifth radio station and provides music, entertainment programmes and news to Malayalam speakers in Dubai.

‘We wanted to install the latest high quality technology that would create efficiencies across the workflow,’ says RGB Broadcasting Sales Director, Shiju George. ‘TSL Products’ combination of audio monitoring technology and mains distribution is an ideal solution to enhance workflows, enabling the production team to focus on creating compelling radio shows.’

The AMU1-BAS L is a 1U-high audio monitor with six stereo analogue inputs, dual 106-segment bargraphs, internal stereo loudspeakers and internal PSU. It has loudness indication as well as headphone outputs with LS muting – which will benefit Club FM with a premium and more dynamic sound. The Power Unit MDU14-B-32A is a 32A standard mains distributor with 14-way fused IEC outlets and a cable tie bar. The unit has green LED power indicators and is also supplied with Powercon Input connectors, allowing RGB Broadcasting to manage basic power and measure voltage for Club FM in a cost-efficient way.

‘The audio monitors and power units are such simple systems, yet they make production workflows more efficient and precise,’ says TSL Products Regional Sales Manager, Swarup Mukherjee. ‘Both systems have earned the confidence of the users and we are certain that they will prove their worth on this project.’
