A new Municipal Theatre has opened its doors in the city of Chillán in central Chile. Established as a modern centre for the arts and culture, the venue is installed with a high-spec technology suite based around Allen & Heath’s dLive digital mixing system.
The 1,300-capacity venue will host a diverse event programme of opera, ballet, plays and music concerts, from visiting national and international production companies. Claudio Nadeau Molina from A/V company, AudioMusica Proyectos, was responsible for the design and installation of the audio system. The dLive system comprises a S5000 Surface with DM48 MixRack for FOH, a S3000 with DM32 for Monitors, and a Dante Digital Splitter for audio distribution, with PC multitrack recording and Reaper DAW.
‘I am amazed by the quality of dLive – every day, I find more features,’ says Municipal Theatre sound engineer Pablo Candia. ‘Its flexibility is impressive and the sound quality is phenomenal. It is very easy to configure to your needs, the processing quality is extremely high, EQ and dynamics are luxurious and the FX library is extensive, and on the surface, screen visibility is excellent. Also, dLive’s digital connectivity via Dante is child’s play to use and very reliable, providing that dream flexibility for an audio distribution system.’
