Radio Guangdong has taken its first Klotz Communications DC 3 audio console, to replace two of its existing DC 2 consoles in on-air studios.
One of China’s leading broadcasters, Radio Guangdong has been using a fully integrated Klotz Vadis system since 2002 an installation that includes eight on-air studios, a main and standby router, an integrated transmission path monitoring system, and a transmission routing system that is connected to the main broadcast building via fibre link.
The new 12-fader and 16-fader DC 3 consoles will replace the DC 2 consoles, and will be integrated into the existing studio furniture. The DC 3 comes in sizes from four to 32 faders, and features an ultra slim table top design. Based on the experience of more than 1,000 DC 2 consoles in the field, the DC 3 delivers many new features to match the requirements of today’s broadcasting environment and beyond.
The console’s integrated Touchstone module turns it into a broadcast production tool, combining traditional radio production control with the processing of visual content, social media, internet communications, and control of third-party equipment, in a single unit.
‘The Vadis installation at Radio Guangdong has been working faultlessly over the past 14 years and has provided the end-user with the best possible reliability,’ says, Klotz Communications Partner and General Manager, Andre Sauer.’ The integration of the DC 3 consoles into the existing Vadis network means that Radio Guangdong, and any other DC 2 user for that matter, can upgrade existing equipment step-by-step and with minimal interruption to daily operations.’
The DC 3 consoles were supplied to Radio Guangdong via Klotz Communications distributor, Hangzhou Linker Digital Technology.
