Crest Audio has announced the coming E-Lite Series of power amplifiers with the E-Lite 1800 and 3000, and E-Lite 1800 DSP and 3000 DSP.
The amplifiers are built on a high-speed class-D design with a switch-mode power supply that reduces weight while increasing reliability, thermal efficiency and output power. The E-Lite 1800 and 1800 DSP offer 900W/channel, while the 3000 and 3000 DSP models boast 1.5kW/channel. Both versions operate in parallel, stereo and bridged modes, and weigh less than 10lbs. The power supply allows stable performance with low frequencies down to 2Ω operation.
The E-Lite DSP version features an onboard digital signal processor that hosts a suite of delays (0-120ms/channel), adjustable crossover, adjustable limiter, parametric EQ, HF driver EQ, four user presets, and lockable security settings. The front-panel LCD screen allows users to quickly identify and assign presets, while the USB port allows users to load presets and enables external setup and adjustment.
The DSP section also integrates Waves MaxxBass Bass Extension technology, which uses psycho-acoustics to create precise harmonic overtones that give the perceived effect of adding low frequencies to the mix. The level of MaxxBass can be adjusted from 0% to 100%.
E-Lite Series amplifiers feature two channels with channel-independent, fourth-order 100Hz crossovers housed in a steel chassis. The proprietary ACL Automatic Clip Limiting circuitry prevents the amplifier from sending potentially damaging clipped signals to the loudspeakers. Additional onboard protection circuitry includes DC, Temp, Signal and Active safeguards, all referenced on the front panel with LED indicators.
The E-Lite series will be available in Q3 2010.
