UK-based commercial audio systems manufacturer Cloud Electronics has introduced the VTX Series of high-power multichannel amplifiers. The range features three 2U-high, rackmount models: the VTX4120 (4 x 120W into 4Ω), VTX4240 (4 x 240Winto 4Ω) and VTX4400 (4 x 400W into 4Ω).
The amplifiers use ‘studio quality’ VCA input modules for Remote Level Control (RL-1) as standard and feature a switched hi-pass filter (18dB/oct below 65Hz) for each channel, as well as extensive protection against short-circuit and reactive loads, clipping, DC and overheating.
VTX models are available with the optional, retro-fittable VTX-WM1web monitoring card. This allows amplifier performance and settings (internal temperature, signal level, PSU status, protection circuitry and remote volume levels) to be monitored at a remote location using a computer, PDA or Smartphone via an internet browser – no dedicated software is necessary. As well as checking the integrity of the amplifier, the VTX-WM1 generates a test signal for the load impedance test, at one or more user-definable frequencies. The range achieves an Industry Best-in-Class Crosstalk Performance of >90dB. All models are configurable for four-channel, dual stereo or mono use and includes balanced line level inputs with gain trim.
Also available as options are: the RL-1 remote music level controller, and EQ cards for Bose and Amina loudspeakers.
The products are shipping now, with a five-year warranty.
