d&b audiotechnik has introduced the D40 four-channel class-D mobile amplifier.
This newest addition to the d&b family, the D40’s reduced size and weight, advanced voltage management, system performance and low power consumption (for improved environmental friendliness) over the company’s 40D installation amplifier make it well suited to mobile applications.
The amplifier has a dynamic range of 116dB (unweighted) and is designed to drive high-voltage d&b loudspeakers while providing comprehensive management and protection capabilities. It reaches 180V peak, delivering full performance from d&b KSL System loudspeakers and V-Series and Y-Series, and uses DSP to incorporate loudspeaker configurations and user-definable setups, equalisation and delay functions. The user interface comprises a 4.3-inch (480 x 272 pix.) color touchscreen and a digital rotary encoder, providing comprehensive information of the device configuration and enhanced status monitoring.
The D40 combines advanced voltage management to drive systems that demand less input power as a whole. The D40 includes enhanced energy saving features, power efficiency and Automatic Wake-up for environmentally responsible and sustainable Green Building requirements.
As part of the d&b family, the D40 benefits from the full range of d&b technology software solutions including ArrayCalc, ArrayProcessing, NoizCalc and the R1 Remote control software. These elements collectively offer highly efficient workflow, maximising the performance, usability, and value of d&b systems.
‘The D40 is a great example of d&b’s drive to produce innovative, high-performing audio solutions,’ says d&b Product Manager, Wolfgang Schulz. ‘Enhanced feature benefits and power efficiency combined with energy savings features increases system efficiency.’
