d&b audiotechnik has introduced the 5D installation amplifier, a four-channel DSP amplifier featuring integrated audio networking and flexible output power sharing.

This newest addition to the d&b family addresses a broad range of installation projects. ‘Especially for our smaller loudspeaker solutions, our new 5D installation amplifier provides flexible usability, uncompromised sonic quality, and seamless system workflow integration,’ confirms d&b Product Manager, Wolfgang Schulz. ‘The 5D offers all the interoperability integrators need and expect. Its compact form factor, ability to drive small scale loudspeaker systems – and all at a budget friendly investment – make the 5D a welcome addition to the d&b portfolio.’

The 5D features a high-density form factor, with a 1U-high 9.5-inch footprint, and is expected to be used to drive smaller loudspeakers. It can be mounted under tables or ceilings as well as in a rack, allowing d&b to serve a greater number of installations, regardless of the size or needs of the venue. Its compact four-channel design means the 5D is also suited to the set-up and deployment of small Soundscape systems. 

Additionally, the 5D is the first d&b amplifier with integrated Dante networking. This feature allows for flexible system configuration changes and convenient deployment of decentralised system designs.
