Amplifier and DSP specialist Linea Research has announced the 48M Series of eight-channel networked DSP amplifiers.
Building on the success of the four-channel 44M Series, the 48M Series offers three models of high-performance eight-channel amplification with built in DSP and networked control. With power ratings of 400W, 750W and 1250W/channel 48M Series amplifiers can deliver the same rated power into 2Ω, 4Ω or 8Ω loads or into 70/100V line systems, easily configurable on a channel-by-channel basis.
‘This ability to individually optimise each output for different loads makes these an incredibly flexible solution,’ explains Davey Smalley of Linea Research. ‘In an installation, you could bridge a pair of channels to drive a sub, add a couple of bi-amp speakers for left and right, switch output seven into 70V mode for some ceiling speakers in the lobby and still have one channel left for a monitor send or choir fill.’
As with all Linea Research amplifiers, Ethernet networking and 96kHz DSP are standard with digital audio connectivity being provided by the built-in AES3 interface or an optional Dante module.
Available in three models the 48M03 (400W/ch), 48M06 (750W/ch) and the 48M10 (1250W/ch), Linea Research’s 48M Series will begin shipping in September 2016.
