SPL has announced the Phonitor se headphone amplifier, available two models – one with an SPL DAC.
The Phonitor se features the same audio signal amplification as Phonitor x and Phonitor xe – SPL’s VOLTAiR technology. Playback of analog signals are via an unbalanced stereo RCA input and for digital players, via the optional DAC768xs.
An unbalanced headphone input, easily accessible on the front of the device, allows the connection of all common types of headphones. The Phonitor se provides two channels of 5W/250Ω (1kHz, 1% THD) to drive the most demanding headphones.
‘The connectivity options and functions of the bigger SPL headphone amplifiers are too extensive for some occasional headphone listeners,’ says SPL Developer, Bastian Neu. ‘After having developed the Phonitor xe, the ultimate headphone amplifier, I am pleased that we now have a version reduced in feature set and price on the market, the Phonitor se.’
Shipping now, Phonitor se has a retail price in the US/Canada of $1,190. Phonitor se with DAC768xs has a retail price in the US/Canada of $1,590.
