Shure has announced enhancements and improvements to its SRH series of headphones. Promising ‘significant product design upgrades and nuanced improvements to sound quality’, the second-generation SRH440A and SRH840A claim superior audio, long-wearing comfort, and durability for use by content creators, professional musicians, and for podcasting, home recording, and critical editing and mixing.
This further evolution of the SRH headphone models incorporates a series of design upgrades and cosmetic design. Both are optimised for critical listening and studio monitoring, featuring improvements including lower harmonic distortion and more precise left-right driver matching.
The SRH840A offers a precisely tailored frequency response powered by 40mm neodymium dynamic drivers to deliver rich bass, a clear mid-range, and extended highs, accompanied by a wide, padded headband and collapsible design. The SRH440A delivers frequency response and accurate audio for podcasting, home recording, and critical editing and mixing.
Both the SRH440A and SRH840A also incorporate feature closed-back, circumaural design that rests comfortably over the ears and reduces background noise for long-wearing comfort over extended periods. The new industrial design with matte finish is intended to look good on camera, and to withstand the rigors of constant use. A straight cable is now standard for both models to offer more mobility in creative spaces.
Purchase of the SRH440A model includes the headphones; a detachable, straight 9ft locking bayonet cable; and a threaded gold stereo 3.5mm to quarter-inch adapter. The SRH840A package includes the headphones; a carrying bag; detachable, straight 9ft locking bayonet cable, and a threaded gold stereo 3.5mm to quarter-inch adapter.
