Black Lion Audio has announced the Revolution EXP 192kHz portable recording interface, a rackmount unit offering 16 analogue TRS connections and 16 channels of Adat I/O, plus proprietary Macro-MMC clocking.
Revolution EXP supports four channels of audio I/O at 96kHz, 24 bits, or two channels at 192kHz, 24 bits. I/O is via16 analogue TRS connections – eight inputs each with a -10dBv pad for hotter signals and eight-outputs. This allows hardware compressors, stereo reverbs or other external hardware to be interfaced with a DAW workflow.
Based on Black Lion Audio’s clocking products and interface modifications, Macro-MMC claims extraordinarily low jitter, bolstered by boutique components from Vishay, Nichicon and Wima that, themselves, ensure maximum signal quality and low-noise. This supports sample rates up to 192kHz, so can comfortably be used as the primary word clock device driving entire studios, or synchronised itself to an external clocking device via a Word Clock In BNC connector.
Future firmware updates can be delivered via a dedicated Firmware Update Only USB-C connection.
Revolution EXP ships through Black Lion Audio’s global network of dealers/distributors with an MAP of US$799 and an SSP of €1,065 (including VAT) towards the end of November 2023.
