Grund Audio Design has added the GT-1220M and GT-1520M to its GT Series of floor monitors, aimed at portable and fixed sound reinforcement applications.
The GT-1220M and GT-1520M models are designed for close-field applications, and are capable of high output for a full stage mix of vocals, drums, keyboards, guitars and bass. They are also well-suited for side-fill or delay monitoring applications. Boasting wide dispersion characteristics, the GT-1220M and GT-1520M have pole cups, making them a ‘speaker on a stick’ option for general purpose PA system applications.
The GT-1220M uses a 12-inch high excursion, low-frequency transducer mated with a 2-inch compression driver that is coupled to a controlled pattern horn. The GT-1520M, meanwhile, has a 15-inch high excursion, low frequency transducer mated with a 2-inch compression driver/horn combination. Both monitors have 40° horizontal and 80° vertical dispersion pattern.
The GT-1220M and GT-1520M have a 450W power handling capability with a nominal impedance of 8Ω. Frequency response for both models is rated at 50Hz to 18kHz. Each enclosure provides two Neutrik NL4 Speakon connectors plus a biamp switch.
The two-way, bass reflex cabinet is constructed from multi-ply Baltic Birch wood that is heavily braced for cabinet rigidity. The enclosures are available in three standard finishes: black, white, or natural (ready-to-stain). The transducer compliment is protected with a powder-coated, perforated steel grille. With their dual angle enclosure design, the GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitors have a low profile for a clean stage presence. For fixed installations, these loudspeaker enclosures are available with optional 2 x 2 suspension, 3/8"-16 threaded mounting points.
