Bluesound Professional has announced the BCS250 and BCS300 passive and active PoE ceiling speakers, suitable for installation in-ceiling or as pendant loudspeakers.
The BCS250 is a passive model designed for both low impedance and constant voltage applications, while the BCS300 expands the Bluesound PoE line as a network streaming ceiling model with integrated streaming and amplification. Both designs can be adapted into a point-centred hanging pendant loudspeaker using the optional Pendant Kit attachment. Both loudspeakers and their corresponding accessories will be available in Black and White finishes.
The BCS250 is a premium passive commercial-grade ceiling loudspeaker, designed for both low impedance and constant voltage scenarios. With a discreet flush-mount design, the it is suited to environments in which wall space is limited, such as small cafés and shops, as well as a wide range of retrofit and new-build applications. The low impedance option delivers better audio quality overall, while the constant voltage option is intended for daisy chained configurations. With a high-performance build, including a UL 2043 plenum rating, the BCS250 is fully certified for commercial builds. It is designed to work in conjunction with the B170S Networked Streaming Stereo Amplifier, offering both low impedance and constant voltage settings (70/100V).
The BCS300 is an integrated ceiling or hanging pendant loudspeaker featuring a built-in music streamer and amplifier. Using Power-over-Ethernet, it efficiently delivers audio to its desired destination in a discreet and simplified manner, requiring only a single Ethernet cable connection to deliver both power and network connection. Unlike traditional set-ups, this decentralised solution eliminates the need for an audio rack, functioning as an independent unit. Moreover, its flush-mount design allows it to blend with any interior design or décor. Its high-performance build includes a UL 2043 plenum rating, fully certifying it for commercial installation. The optional pendant kit allows the BCS300 to be ceiling suspended and allows positioning of speakers at a lower height if there is nothing available to mount it at a typical height, especially in the case of exposed ceilings. Based on the BluOS multi-room platform, the BCS300 enables multi-zone control, loudspeaker grouping and integrated networked music streaming from Bluesound Professional’s business music partners – SoundMachine, Qsic, Custom Channels and SiriusXM Music for Business.
The pendant kit allows the BCS250 and BCS300 to be transformed into a point-centered hanging pendant design, providing installers with ultimate flexibility to interchange between the two mounting options to accommodate for any type of infrastructure. Featuring a lamp-shaped enclosure, the pendant design can serve as a hanging fixture in scenarios where audio needs to be brought closer to a listening height, especially in the case of high and/or exposed ceilings. The Pendant Kit will be available in both matte black and matte white finishes, and each kit will include a hook, cap and pendant housing. The Black Pendant Kit will also include a black grille.
Paintable magnetic grilles will be available in circular and square options.
