PK Sound has announced the Tx Series of point-source loudspeakers, complementing its Trinity range of robotic line source solutions in a comprehensive offering for a mobile and installed applications. Among the compatible elements is the T8 compact robotically controlled cine source family.
‘There are plenty of great loudspeakers out there, but PK systems enable users to overcome the unique acoustic challenges of virtually any environment,’ says PK Sound Chief Strategy Officer, James Oliver. ‘From arenas and stadia to theatres and houses of worship, users can mechanically configure and optimise system coverage remotely and in real time to essentially remove the room from the performance. In addition to our robotic line array solutions, the Milan-ready Tx Series point-source modules introduce a complete system offering with an unprecedented degree of control and optimisation via PK .dynamics software.’
Available for select performance installation applications beginning in late Q4 2024, the Tx Series includes the Tx26, which features controlled 100° conical directivity with a frequency response of 55Hz-18kHz and 133dB peak SPL. Its pair of vented 6-inch Tetracoil transducers with custom phase plugs manage low-frequency response while a 1-inch HT polymer diaphragm compression driver handles high frequencies.
The larger Tx14 offers controlled 50° by 70° directivity with a 50Hz-18Hz frequency response and 138.5dB max SPL, using a 14-inch coaxial transducer with a 3-inch neodymium diaphragm compression driver. As a floor monitor, the Tx14 has a natural inclination of 35°, which can be extended to 55° via onboard uptilt stands.
Featuring PK Sound’s multi-axis robotics, T8’s output, with peak SPLs reaching 143.5dB, is precisely controlled down to 400Hz in both the vertical and horizontal planes, offering system operators maximum flexibility in making coverage adjustments after the array is flown.
PK Sound’s two-channel VE15 1.4kW class-D amplifier ensures generous headroom for each Tx module. Onboard DSP and audio-video bridging (AVB) network endpoints are routed through the world’s first implementation of Neutrik’s DR Series of IP65-rated connectors for maximum stability and seamless operation via PK .dynamics.
Additionally, both the Tx26 and Tx14 are easily mounted or flown with a variety of rigging accessories via onboard M10 rigging points, making them useful in both portable and installed applications. Version 1.5 of PK. dynamics with full Tx Series support and Ease GLL files for PK Sound’s full product line is set for release to integrators in Q3 2024.
