Equipson’s Work Pro division has announced two new models in its WFS range of outdoor projector loudspeakers – the WFS 4 CX and WFS 6 CX with IP ratings suiting them t applications including theme parks, aquaparks, shopping malls, stadia and train stations.

Additionally, Work Pro Audio’s WFS range is suited to indoor environments such as swimming pools, auditoria and arenas where sound has to travel a long distance without losing clarity or intelligibility.

WFS range of outdoor projector loudspeakers The new models join the three existing models in the WFS range of passive, two-way, full-range projector loudspeakers, the WFS 5 CX, WFS 500 CX R and WFS 10 CX R. All have an IP66 rating, the highest level of waterproof protection available according to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard, which is recognised worldwide.

With a power rating of 150W 8Ω, the WFS 4 CX combines a 1.5-inch compression driver with an 8-inch coaxial transducer for consistent coverage of the entire vocal range. The WFS 6 CX also features a 1.5-inch compression driver, combined with a 12-inch coaxial transducer. Dimensions of the WFS 4 CX, which weighs 9.1kg, are 390mm x 370mm x 330mm, while the WFS 6 CX measures 540mm x 500mm x 500mm and weighs 20.3kg.

Both models are available in a white weather-resistant fibreglass enclosure, as well as the black enclosure that is common across the WFS range. Both offer two connection modes – low impedance 8Ωand 70/100V line – allowing them to be adjusted for different acoustic solutions. Work Pro Audio can also supply wall-mounted fittings for easy installation of all speakers in this range, regardless of application.

‘Designed with elegance and durability in mind, the WFS range is visually discreet and can withstand the most adverse environmental conditions,’ the company says. ‘All speakers incorporate aluminium grilles covered with protective water-repellent fabric and four-pole electrical connection cables that enter the enclosure through a cable gland, thus preventing water, dust and moisture from damaging the transducers.’
