Alcons Audio’s new CRMSQ system is a modular two-way column array system, combining ‘a perfectly natural, dynamic sound reproduction with superb intelligibility and coverage, while drastically reducing the influence of the acoustics’ in media rooms, custom-installs and cinemas.
Two Alcons RBN1203 ribbon drivers are mounted in a symmetrical co-axial configuration with four 6.5-inch woofers. Up to three modules can be powered by a single amplifier channel for more output and control down to lower frequencies.
The accompanying CRMSQB is a modular column bass array system that can be stacked in multiples as a building block to form bass arrays for obtaining low frequency projection and throw control, drastically reducing the influence of the room acoustics.
The CRMSQB with next-gen 12-inch woofers is available in two versions – the CRMSQB, with CRMSQ width-matching and the CRMSQBsl, with CRMSQ depth-matching, maintaining a 254mm/210-inch system depth.
Additionally, Alcons has released the in-house developed ALC Director amplified loudspeaker controller, a multichannel drive-engine enabling Alcons pro-ribbon systems to deliver maximum performance in (semi)permanent installations.
The ALC Director features a powerful eight-channel DSP-based controller with eight bridgeable, new generation 750W class-D amplifier stages. The 8-input/8-out matrix accepts up to 192kHz digital AES3 signals and can be controlled on-unit via RGB-LED encoder and channel buttons.
