Carl Tatz Design (CTD) has added a high-performance professional reference studio subwoofer to its line of PhantomFocus Precision Monitoring Instruments.
The PFM Ice Cube-12 Subwoofer anchors the PhantomFocus System but can be used in any application requiring low-frequency performance with full 20Hz frequency response and extremely tight and powerful dynamic pitch articulation.
Two years in development, it is the first subwoofer to display the PFM marque and the top of the PhantomFocus System (PFS).
Designed with the latest Ice Power amplifier technology developed by Bang & Olufsen, the PFM Ice Cube-12 Subwoofer is loaded with a 12-inch long-throw, audiophile grade paper-coned driver along with a massive magnet motor structure and cast aluminium frame. The simple design of the subwoofer employs powerful DSP for crossover and driver control, as well as maintaining a low distortion output by preventing signal overload. The cabinet is built with 0.75-inch medium density fibreboard (MDF) that has been internally laminated with a 3.5mminch aluminium substrate bracing mechanism for ultra-rigidity.
The PFM Ice Cube-12 measures 15.75-inch x 15.75-inch x 15.75-inch, and weighs 55lbs. (24.9476kg), Max Continuous SPL 120dB, 700W, low-pass filter 40-140Hz with LFE bypass, 0-180° phase switch, left/right line level RCA/PFS Balanced XLR input, Studio Black high-gloss finish.
The PFM Ice Cube-12 Subwoofer and full specifications are available now.
