RCF Audio’s new NXL 14-A is the most compact active loudspeaker in the company’s professional NXL series.
The design features two 6-inch woofers in a symmetrical configuration and the new 1.75-inch Precision Transducers PKX driver loaded on a rotatable TRW waveguide, all powered by a 2.1kW two-channel amplifier.
Available in black and white finishes, the NXL 14-A is designed to deliver definition, power, and portability in any live application. It is suited to use for vocal reproduction, and work comfortably in compact live systems paired with RCF Sub Series subwoofers, in immersive set-ups, or as a fill speaker.
The NXL 14-A is paired with the most powerful amplifier in its class, the NXL Mk2 two-channel class-D amplifier. The unit is claimed to be 50 per cent more powerful than earlier models, and manages extreme sound pressure levels with an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response and very low power loss.
The amplifier is attached to a solid aluminium heat exchanger at the rear of the enclosure, which has no moving parts. NXL modules are energy efficient, and operate without a cooling fan.
The input circuit features a new low-distortion design with an advanced safety limiter, maintaining the true character of the input signal at all levels. All NXL amplifiers are designed according to EN62368-1 for safety, and employ a Switch Mode Power Supply section of minimum weight.
The NXL 14-A internally reinforced enclosure is equipped with waterproof powerCON True1 Top mains connectors for durability in all outdoor conditions.
