Røde has announced two shotgun mics – the NTG4 and NTG4+.
Drawing on the established Røde shotgun mic range, the NTG4 and NTG4+ are intended to offer broadcast qualiry audio to both enthusiasts and professionals. Starting with an all-new capsule, the new models exhibit lower noise and higher sensitivity than previously, giving cleaner audio at source.
Onboard digital switching controls a 75Hz high-pass filter, 10dB pad and high-frequency boost, which was first available on the Stereo VideoMic X to compensate for high-frequency attenuation when using a furry windshield.
Extending the dual-powered flexibility of the NTG2, the NTG4+ is equipped with an internal rechargeable lithium battery, providing up to 150 hours operating time. The battery is charged via any USB power source using the supplied MicroUSB cable. The NTG4 and NTG4+ will ship in Q1 2015.
