Shure has released the MVL Lavalier Microphone, for field recording, dictation, news reporting and audio/video recording.
The latest addition to the MOTIV line of digital recording equipment, the MVL is an omnidirectional condenser lavalier mic for use with any iOS and Android device. Connecting directly to tablets and smartphones, it is designed to be used with the ShurePlus MOTIV Mobile Recording App, which enables high-quality digital recording on-the-go and sharing of audio files by email and text.
The mic comes with a tie-clip, and connects via a standard 3.5mm plug (TRRS), through the headphone jack for instant recording to an iOS or Android device. Eliminating the need for a handheld microphone and offering an upgrade to standard smartphone recording, the MVL is intended for close-miking. It claims low noise sensitivity, optimal radio frequency (RF) immunity and decreased susceptibility to clipping.
‘MVL is ideal for many applications, including dictation, interview, audio for broadcast, and more,’ says Matt Engstrom, Category Director for Wired Products at Shure. ‘Whether it’s a professor looking to record an important lecture for a virtual classroom experience or a reporter capturing the latest news, the MVL makes recording and sharing quality audio simple.’
The MOTIV MVL Lavalier Microphone will be available in Q2 2015.
