Following the earlier DA-3000, Tascam has launched the DA-3000SD two-channel DSD/PCM Master Recorder with AD/DA Converter with support for high-capacity SD card media and improved control over the recording process.

Designed for recording, mastering and monitoring, the DA-3000SD is designed to meet the high-capacity recording requirements of recording studios and live sound engineers. It supporst for up to 512GB SDXC card media, providing upwards of 100 hours of two-channel 192kHz, 24-bit audio recording. The DA-3000SD also offers level control over the internal oscillator for more precise calibration.

Tascam DA-3000SD DSD/PCM Master RecorderDirect Stream Digital (DSD or ‘1-bit’) recording means that audio can be converted to any necessary PCM file format with the utmost accuracy including formats 96kHz. And as audio formats advance in the future, DSD audio ensures the archived audio can be reproduced in relevant formats. Even when recording in PCM format, the audio captured has a much higher resolution and greater dynamic range than bouncing files within a DAW.

The DA-3000SD allows precise monitoring with dedicated level control. Both recording and playback synchronisation is possible by cascading multiple units, thus creating a DSD multitrack environment. By connecting eight DA-3000SDs, users can record up to 16 tracks simultaneously.

In addition to its key features, the DA-3000SD includes an auto file save function to prevent data loss in the unforeseen event of power loss and a panel lock feature for failsafe operation. With its comprehensive I/O for both analogue and digital audio, the it can make itself at home in any studio environment. The unit supports analogue audio with balanced and unbalanced connections, while digital audio for PCM is provided via AES-EBU and S/PDIF. Digital audio I/O for DSD is provided with SDIF-3/DSD-raw terminals. Additionally, the DA-3000SD features a port for USB memory, for audio playback or mutual copying with SD cards. There is also a dedicated USB port for connection of a keyboard for folder/file name input and external control.

The front panel sports a highly visible 24-dot level meter with brightness control. Further, the unit is equipped with a 128 x 64-dot OLED display with a wide viewing angle for high visibility. In addition to being able to synchronise and cascade multiple units for clock synchronssation and recording/playback timing synchronisation. It hasWord In/Out/Thru support, with Out and Thru being switchable. It can be controlled via the included RC-10 remote for integration with professional audio systems.
