The latest addition to Focusrite’s line of audio interfaces is the Saffire Pro14 – an eight-input, six-output FireWire audio interface with Midi capability, designed for use in project studios needing simple, high-quality Mac or PC I/O.

Key features include two mic preamps with 48V phantom power and 24-bit/96kHz A-D/D-A converters with JetPLL jitter-elimination technology. The Pro14’s eight inputs comprise two mic/line/instrument connection, two line, stereo SPDIF and stereo ‘loopback’, enabling recording from multiple sources at the same time, including inside the computer. The four line and stereo SPDIF outputs allow different mixes to be assigned to different outputs, or stems that can be mixed externally.

Saffire MixControl enables cue mixes to be set up for performers, as well as quick recall of settings and routing of inputs to outputs for ultra-low-latency monitoring (internal latency is lower than 1.4ms), and the Pro14 ships with the Focusrite Plug-in Suite and Xcite+ bundle.

For location work, the Pro14 can be powered from FireWire connection or an AC-DC adaptor.
