Mackie has announced the Axis Digital Mixing System for professional production and installed sound. With Dante integration, the modular system pairs the company’s 32-channel DL32R digital mixer with the all-new DC16 control surface.
‘It’s an incredibly forward-thinking, modular professional digital mixing solution with more features per price than any other digital mixer available,’ says Mackie Product Manager, Ben Olswang. ‘The workflow is amazingly fast, with tremendous visual feedback and customisation.’
The combination of the DL32R digital mixer and new DC16 control surface delivers a scalable system with the benefits of digital audio and wireless mixing designed from the ground up as an integrated system. With 32 remote-controllable Onyx+ mic preamps and 16 outputs paired with built-in DSP, the system is suited to medium and large channel-count applications. The system relies on Dante for communication between the DL32R mixer and DC16 control surface, enabling additional networking capability for professional applications.
Visual feedback is provided by large, full-colour channel displays and the ability to dock up to three iPads in the SmartBridge, with sensing that knows when an iPad is in place. This allows easy customisation over each iPad view to meet specific workflow needs. An iPad can also be undocked from the DC16 for remote control of the system.
