The Bettermaker Mastering EQ combines a stereo Pultec-style equaliser, three-band parametric EQ and low-pass/high-pass filters in a single analogue mastering equaliser. All parameters can be controlled using the 5-inch backlit touchscreen, or with a dedicated DAW plug-in via USB connectivity.
The unit has been developed from the company’s earlier EQ232p, including its Pultec-style and parametric combination, but adds an extra parametric band and LPF/HPF shelf options. Both shelves provide up to 6dB of boost/cut, variable centre frequency width and Q. A new solo mode focuses attention on the mono or side signals when used in M/S mode, as well as Left or Right in stereo mode.
The display provides an on-screen representation of the EQ curve, as well as Peak/RMS level metering and an RTA analyser. Four pushbutton rotary encoders allow intuitive parameter control.
