Eventide Audio has unveiled a Pro Tools HD Expansion Card for its flagship H9000 multi-effects processor platform.
With full integration, Pro Tools production benefits from unprecedented processing and effects flexibility through the upwards of 1,600 Eventide algorithms and the H9000’s expansive ARM-based DSP, implemented with operational simplicity within the familiar Pro Tools I/O and plug-in user interfaces.
The H9000 Pro Tools HD Expansion Card has two H9000 set-up menu selectable modes of operation – 32-channels In/Out (primary port only) or 16-channels (primary port) and 16-channels pass-thru to secondary port (for connecting other HD devices). Within Pro Tools, the H9000 appears as an HD I/O device (16 or 32 channels, depending on the selected mode). Digital sync selection options are Internal (Loop Sync Master), Word-clock, Loop Sync, AES, SPDIF and optical. As with other HD devices interfaced to Pro Tools, H9000 sample rate is controlled by Pro Tools. 16x16 analogue I/O can be enabled with Pro Tools display monitoring of analogue gain control levels. Pro Tools automatic latency compensation for signals processed in the H9000 is based on Avid HD I/O specs.
Along with Pro Tools support, v1.3 features enhanced Midi functionality and two new effect algorithms and their associated presets migrated from the H9 stompbox – TriceraChorus (a lush three-voice stereo chorus based on the classic DynoMyPiano and Dimension D) and Harmadillo (a harmonic tremolo algorithm). The latest version of Emote offers UI refinements such as metering in the primary window and enhanced algorithm viewing.
‘The introduction of the Pro Tools expansion card marks a significant move toward seamless integration with Pro Tools, the industry standard recording platform among top recording and post-production facilities,’ says 9000 Product Manager, Patrick Flores. ‘In addition to supporting Pro Tools connectivity, H9000 v1.3 software adds new effects and customer-requested features and supports a newly updated Emote, the H9000’s remote control application.’
The Eventide Pro Tools HD Expansion Card retails for US$999 and is now available from Eventide Professional dealers worldwide.
