Waves Audio has released a ‘dramatically enhanced’ version of the StudioRack plug-in chainer, adding macros, parallel processing racks, multiband racks and other features. The new StudioRack is now available for free.
A re-imagined version of Waves’ plug-in chainer, StudioRack can still be used to create entire plug-in chains, with up to eight plug-ins per StudioRack chain, each taking up just one DAW insert. Chains can be saved for instant recall, and loaded up in any DAW, allowing mixed to be moved between different DAWs.
New features:
- Eight macros per chain: multiple parameters from different plug-ins can be combined into a single macro with up to eight macros per chain.
- Parallel processing racks: chains can be split at any point into up to eight parallel processing mono, stereo or M/S racks, for easy parallel processing without complex routing.
- Multiband split racks: any Waves plug-in can be used as a multiband processor, by splitting the signal from any point in any chain into multiband racks with adjustable crossover points.
StudioRack’s new features also include easy plug-in search, to instantly find the plug-ins, and floating plug-in windows, to view and control multiple plug-ins simultaneously. StudioRack can be used natively, using a computer’s CPU for plug-in processing, or in SoundGrid mode, which offloads all plug-in processing to a SoundGrid server.
The new StudioRack ships with more than 170 presets for entire plug-in chains, including chain presets from producer/engineers Tony Maserati (Beyoncé) and Dave Darlington (Sting).
Waves StudioRack is now compatible with the latest V11 version of all Waves plug-ins.
