Austrian Audio has announced the StereoCreator PC/Mac plug-in to exploit the dual output capability of its OC818 large-diaphragm condenser microphone.
The company’s continuous technological push to provide users of its mics with a ‘complete’ recording system led to the development of the PolarPilot smartphone app, the AmbiCreator and PolarDesigner plug-ins, and now the StereoCreator. When used with the OC818s dual outputs, this free plug-in opens unprecedented new possibilities in post production.
The StereoCreator can be used either with one dual output OC818 for ‘pseudo stereo’, or two microphones on top of each other to get a true stereo recording. Stereo recordings can be manipulated by switching between the three stereo recording types – X/Y stereo, M/S stereo and Blumlein stereo – and changing the image to taste. Depending on the type of setting, various options are available. To be able to compare different results with each other, the ‘calculate’ function brings the signals to the same level.
Key Features:
- Stereo recording with one OC818.
- The stereo techniques (XY/MS/Blumlein) post-processing possibilities.
- Adjustment of spatiality in post processing.
- Adjustment stereo width in post processing.
- Rotation of stereo field in post processing.
