Sonnox has announced Voca, the latest addition to the Toolbox range.

‘Vocals form the centrepiece of nearly every song, but achieving a clean, compelling vocal sound can be a frustrating process,’ the company says.

Typically, many processes are combined to get the required result; drawing in level automation or adjusting clip gain, followed by compressors that have complementary characteristics (and’ often, counterintuitive controls), saturation to taste and some dynamic control of harshness and sibilance.

Voca achieves all this within a single plug-in without relying on presets. Nor does it use an AI model to calculate a set of parameters.
