The new Revolution Clock family from Black Lion Audio feature patented Macro-MMC technology and precision MEMS oscillators for industry-leading stability.
With 0.5pS RMS jitter at the BNC outputs – the most precise and reliable word clocks from Black Lion to date – Revolution Clocks are capable of driving signals over 1,000ft of coaxial cable, suiting them to use in large-scale live sound, broadcast and postproduction applications.
The Revolution Clock XC model introduces Suspended Oscillation technology, physically isolating the oscillators from environmental vibrations to maintain the highest accuracy, even in high-SPL studio environments. Additionally, a built-in mini-transformer ensures galvanic isolation, reducing parasitic interference for clean clocking.
The Revolution Clock family includes three models to suit various applications:
- Revolution Clock XC: The flagship model, capable of driving up to 14 devices, featuring Suspended Oscillation technology and an extensive range of connectivity options, including eight BNC, two S/PDIF, two Adat optical, and two AES/EBU outputs; as well as BNC clock in. 44.1kHz-384kHz.
- Revolution Clock: A versatile mid-range option with four BNC, one S/PDIF, one Adat optical, and an AES/EBU output, for medium-sized set-ups requiring high-quality clocking. 44.1kHz-384kHz.
- Revolution Clock Mini: A compact option for smaller studios or live use, offering three BNC outputs and solid timing up to 192kHz.
Revolution Clocks should start shipping through Black Lion Audio’s global network of dealers/distributors in late Q1/early Q2 2025. Revolution Clock Mini is priced at US$299 US MAP/€399 SSP (inc 19% VAT); Revolution Clock is priced at US$599 MAP/€799 SSP (inc 19% VAT); and Revolution Clock XC is priced at US$1,099 MAP/€1,499 SSP (inc 19% VAT).
