Heritage Audio brand Lang Electronics has introduced the Lang PEQ-2 plug-in, an emulation of its own PEQ-2 Program Equalizer – which earlier revived one of the most desirable equalisers – in both native and DSP formats.
Since successfully recreating the so-called Lang Program Equalizer as the PEQ-2 Program Equalizer, the Lang PEQ-2 plug-in’s layout mirrors that of its hardware namesake – deceptively simple, yet capable of extreme processing while maintaining the musicality of the signal being processed. Thanks to independent controls for Boost and Droop (cut) for both the HF (high frequency) and LF (low frequency) bands, users can quickly transform their material in interesting, creative ways. An ability to boost and cut at the same (or similar) frequencies produces equalised response curves that claim to be ‘sure to excite’.
The Lang PEQ-2 also features a high peak boost with a completely variable HF Boost Bandwidth setting that spans from Sharp to Broad to cover users’ needs in a musical-sounding manner. Moreover, the range of Boost actually varies depending on what that selected HF Boost Bandwidth setting is, offering a very smooth and natural response at all times.
