Solid State Logic release RTAS versions of the Duende Native plug-in collection at the 2011 New York AES Convention.
‘Although The Duende Native plug-in collection has always been available with an included RTAS wrapper, which has worked very well for most users, some users reported limitations when using the wrapped plug-ins within Pro Tools DAW architecture in conjunction with DAW Controller hardware,’ says Niall Feldman, SSL Director of New Products. ‘These new native RTAS versions of the Duende collection address those concerns and make the superb sound of SSL plug-ins even more appealing to Pro Tools users worldwide. The RTAS versions are the first fruit of SSL becoming an Avid Development Partner. This new relationship demonstrates a spirit of wider industry cooperation and is one we hope will continue to deliver better and more open working environments for audio professionals for many years to come.’
The Duende Native collection comprises adaptations of two SSL console classics, the EQ and Dynamics Channel plug-in and the Stereo Bus Compressor plug-in. In addition, Duende Native includes Drumstrip and Vocalstrip, which are ‘task specific’ plug-ins that each gather together a set of selected processing tools for drum and vocal sounds. X-EQ and X-Comp are both mastering grade processors, while X-Verb is a hardware standard reverb.
The RTAS versions of Duende Native Plug-ins are available now through the SSL website. Existing plug-in owners can download new software installers free of charge from the SSL website, and the new installer will be supplied as standard to all new customers.
