Targetting mastering engineers, Focusrite has announced the Softube Drawmer S73 Intelligent Master Processor – adding it to the Time and Tone bundle, here it joins Softube’s TSAR-1R Reverb, Tube Delay and Saturation Knob.
The unit features an enhanced multi-band compressor sound design, fine-tuned to optimise the choices a mastering engineer typically makes when treating a mix. The Type parameter switches between ready-made mastering processing techniques, including multi-band compression, equalisation and mid-side (M/S) processing.
The S73 uses technology created by Drawmer for the Three-Band FET Stereo Compressor, a multi-band analogue compressor design from 1973, famed for its precision and flexibility. Softube has carefully modelled all the characteristics of the original hardware, and have taken the concept a step further by adding sound design that adds tricks used by mastering engineers to create the Intelligent Master Processor.
All Clarett, Scarlett and Saffire owners who registered on or after 1 September 2015 are eligible to download the bundle, which it is available with any new purchase of those interface ranges.
