Allen & Heath has launched the IP4, a four-button wallplate controller designed to simplify control of AHM, Avantis and dLive systems in installed audio environments, in conjunction with a major update to Custom Control, the customisable, cross-platform app for these same systems.
‘We created the IP4 to offer integrators versatility while giving end-users intuitive, tactile control,’ says A&H Director of Product, Nicola Beretta. ‘Its streamlined design allows non-technical users to manage essential audio functions confidently across retail, hospitality, education, and leisure spaces.’
The PoE-powered IP4 controller features four programmable buttons – each configurable for mute toggling, preset recall, level adjustment, and source selection – with illuminated buttons ensuring clear visibility.
Configuration is managed via AHM System Manager, Avantis Director or dLive Director software, allowing integrators to tailor functionality for specific installation environments. The IP4 connects via standard TCP/IP, enabling integration with compatible Allen & Heath hardware and third-party devices. Available in EU/UK and US variants, the IP4 fits Euro 50x50mm faceplates or US Decora-style backboxes to meet regional requirements.
The IP4 adds to a range of networkable, PoE-powered remote controllers and GPIO interfaces including the 8-fader IP8, IP1 rotary wallplate, and 7-inch/10-inch touchpanels for Custom Control.
Allen & Heath’s Custom Control’s update to V1.5 introduces a number of requested features and improvements for commercial integrators, system engineers, and HoW technicians and integrators.
Headlining the forthcoming release is PEQ Control for AHM, allowing operators to adjust any parametric EQ in AHM with a beautiful interactive graphic or via a simple rotary control. Bolstering Custom Control’s aesthetic improvements in V1.5 is the ability to add custom fonts, ensuring designs stay on-brand and best match their use case, plus a screensaver option. Preamp control has also been added, enabling quick control of preamps to compensate for source level changes.
‘The new IP4 and customer-driven Custom Control update demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering powerful yet accessible solutions for the installation market, guided by feedback from our users,’ says A&H Installation and Commercial Audio Manager, Samantha Potter. ‘With the most comprehensive I/O range in the industry, we’re building a control range to match, empowering integrators to deliver seamless, high-quality audio control in any environment.’
