JDK has extended its product line with the 8MX2 preamp/mixer.
The 8MX2 was developed from technology used in the API Paragon live mixing console into a standalone preamp/mixer for remote recording racks and sidecar applications.
Equipped with eight microphone preamps, each of the unit’s channels provides variable threshold peak limiting, 48V phantom power, phase reverse, direct output and a path to the stereo mix bus. Its 8:2 mixer takes its feed from the mic preamp or eight external line level inputs. There are also two ten-segment meters to monitor input/mix and gain reduction, headphone and speaker output monitor controls, and multi-unit cue and master capabilities.
The 8MX2 is comfortable working on either analogue or digital projects, and ideal for project, remote and live recording.
‘The 8MX2 is the perfect addition to the JDK line,’ says API Managing Director, Gordon Smart. ‘Like the rest of the JDK family, the 8MX2 has an amazing pedigree, represents outstanding value, and is of course built to API’s exacting standards. We’re excited to be expanding the JDK line, and we’re by no means done yet.’
