Tascam has announced the RX-BT10 Bluetooth Audio Receiver, a professional grade audio receiver that enables audio from Bluetooth devices (such as smartphones and tablets) to be integrated into existing sound systems. With a compact and robust form factor that includes balanced XLR outputs, the RX-BT10 can be connected to any device for incorporating Bluetooth audio into a wide range of temporary or installed sound environments.
Support for Bluetooth 5.1 (Class 1) facilitates long-distance, high-stability connections over a distance of approximately 100m (328ft) with quick and convenient Bluetooth pairing. In addition to the Bluetooth pairing button, the unit provides a front panel Euro block port that enables users to add a remote pairing button. Combined with its extendable front panel antenna, the RX-BT10 can be placed optimally for a specific space. To ensure easy identification in environments where multiple RX-BT10 units are deployed, devices can be renamed from iOS, iPadOS, and Android.
The RX-BT10’s dual output options facilitate the ability to be connected to a wide range of sound systems. This includes balanced XLR outputs as well as unbalanced stereo RCA outputs. The unit is also equipped with a switchable stereo/mono output for preservation of a source material stereo field or mono summing if so desired.
Another attribute of the RX-BT10 is its compact and rugged metal enclosure that provides peace of mind and ensures reliable performance. The receiver’s half-rack form factor allows it to be placed where it is needed in addition to fitting into a standard equipment rack. Mounting points on the top and bottom panels enable the RX-BT10 to be attached to ‘practically anything’, and a bracket kit for mounting on a shelf or under a desk is included. To further ensure versatile installation, Tascam offers the optional AK-RS1, a 1U-high rackmount shelf that provides additional integration options, including the ability to mount two units side-by-side.
‘Considering how popular devices such as smartphones and tablets are these days, the RX-BT10 is an incredibly convenient solution that makes integrating them into today’s sound systems a no brainer,’ says Tascam Product Specialist, Sean Daily. ‘It enables, for example, people to use their devices for background music as opposed to having to set up a separate device. Bluetooth pairing is a snap, and since each RX-BT10 has its own unique ID for easy identification, people needn’t worry about stepping on other people’s signals when used in close proximity, such as a facility where there are multiple meeting rooms.’
