DAS Audio has added a single 18-inch subwoofer system into its Action line of loudspeakers, targetting the mobile DJ and portable systems markets, where its compact size and high output are most applicable.
The Action 118A is an activehorn subwoofer system designed to accompany the Action full-range cabinets. It uses a single DAS Audio 18LX long-excursion driver incorporating a 4-inch voice coil powered by a class-D amplifier with switch mode power supply (SMPS), digital signal processing (DSP) and a 3.2kW peak power rating. The amplifier has an EQ switch to allow selection of a Deep response or a Loud response.
The system includes two balanced inputs with stereo filtered output connections for satellite systems. The variable crossover ranges from 100Hz-160Hz and can be defeated to offer stereo ‘loop-thru’ connections. A gain control and polarity reverse feature increase user control over the system.

The Action 118A cabinet is manufactured using birch plywood and is finished with a coating the highly resistant ISO-flex black paint for durability. Handles on the sides and the rear of the cabinet along with two rear located wheels make moving the box easier. The powder-coated steel front grille protects the DAS Audio components.
A version designed for external amplification, the Action 118, is also available for bi-amplified systems.
